A photograph of Professor Stephen Hawking smiling while sitting between two women in bikinis has surfaced in the latest batch of Epstein-related documents.

His name appears hundreds of times in files released by the US Department of Justice, and he is also visible in several images included in the document release.

The late theoretical physicist, who died in 2018 at the age of 76, has not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing in connection with the material.

The image, which had circulated online before, was included again in the most recent group of documents made public in January.

In the photo, the author of A Brief History of Time is seen smiling while resting on a sun lounger beside two unidentified women wearing bikinis.

All three appear to be holding drinks that resemble cocktails while relaxing outdoors in the sun.

The exact date and location of the image remain unclear.

Other photographs of Hawking on Epstein’s private island have also been released in the past. One image shows him dining with other guests during a scientific conference hosted by Epstein in 2006.

Another photo shows him viewing the seabed from inside a submarine. Reports state that the submarine had been modified so Hawking could access it.

Hawking is one of many well-known individuals whose names appear in the documents. Attorney General Pam Bondi also released a list of around 300 other public figures referenced in the files.

Being mentioned in the documents does not imply involvement in any criminal activity.

In one email exchange from 2015, Epstein asked Ghislaine Maxwell whether he could help obtain evidence that Hawking did not “participate in an underage orgy.”

Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial, also defended Hawking in a message sent to journalist and media consultant Michael Wolff in September 2016.

In that message, Epstein described claims that scientist Marvin Minsky had sex with an underage girl as “ludicrous.”

Theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss also appeared to defend Hawking in an email sent to a reporter in December 2017.

Krauss said in part: “Claims online began to surface about me with a sexual nature. The first I saw online was a claim that Stephen Hawking and I had had an orgy at one of Jeffrey’s properties.”

“If you know anything about my friend Stephen Hawking you will know this is patently ridiculous.”

One of the more unusual emails referencing Hawking was received by Epstein four days after the physicist died. Officials redacted the identity of the sender before releasing the document.

The unidentified sender asked Epstein: “Will you attend his funeral? He was my favorite Astronome= [sic] of all time and apparently a naughty one too.”

Former political adviser James P. McGee also sent a message to Epstein offering condolences after Hawking’s death.

Hawking traveled to Epstein’s private island in 2006 along with dozens of other scientists to attend a conference organized by Epstein. This visit took place months before Epstein first faced charges related to child sex offenses.
